British Computer Society

The British Computer Society is the national body responsible for maintaining standards within the profession of Software Engineering. I qualified as a full Member and as a Chartered Engineer fifteen years ago and have now been accepted onto their Consultants' Register.

Full Membership of the society requires an approved degree in a relevant subject, several years' experience in the industry, and a post with a certain level of responsibility. Members are spread across industry and academia, some have technical and managerial jobs, others act as independent consultants.

Further details of the Society at: http://www1.bcs.org.uk

I am a member of the BCS Birmingham Branch who organise seminars and technical meetings in the West Midlands.
