St Laurence Church

[St Laurence Church, Alvechurch]

St Laurence church has been here since 1239 but the oldest parts that remain date back to the 13th century. The Victorian architect William Butterfield rebuilt much of the church in the 1850s, raising the roof of the nave and leaving the church with a tower that appears to be too short in proportion.

The tower holds the ring of eight bells which are in urgent need of restoration.
